In the opening pages of this section, I wrote that some of my out-of-state friends were bored by the Sacramnto delta. Shortly afterward I got a message from my lifetime friend, Buster Airey (who has appeared elsewhere in these pages) saying that he hoped I had not included him among the bored. So, for the record: Buster Airey was not bored. |

We see him here in November 1983 at the hotel in Ryde where we had lunch. See him smile.
This may have been my last trip into the delta. A few months later, Joan and I left
Sacramento on the long road back to Wisconsin.
