Santa Cruz 1978

We moved to Sacramento in 1972 when Aerojet relocated many operations up there.

This photo was taken on a day trip to Santa Cruz during the off-season. The boardwalk was deserted and we liked it that way. I dragged Joan to a photo booth in the "Penny" Arcade. She didn't want to go and she doesn't look too pleased in the first frame but she quickly relaxed. Frame three is my favorite picture of us together -- and a machine took it!

We found a vendor selling red candy popcorn. It had a sweet rasberry taste. For years afterward we recalled this lovely day, and the red popcorn.
