In most cases, I prefer the black-and-white version. I’ve been surprised to find that many friends with only a casual interest in photography express a similar liking. Today we almost never see a movie filmed in black-and-white, yet many are made with color so muted as to approach a monotone rendering. Black-and-white is extensively used in advertising. I am not alone.
