Arcady (9)

As I read these letters now I keep wondering about my response at the time I received them. Did we discuss them when I got home? I would hope so, yet I have no specific memory of this.

The late sixties and early seventies were trying times for children coming of age and for their parents. The world was changing in ways we only vaguely perceived. After years of devotion to the needs of her family, Joan found herself in an emerging new situation with few outlets. It was a scary place and she was too ready to see shortcomings in herself.
I hope I recognized this back then.
