VENICE BEACH The pier seen in the lower left photo was inaccessible because of a fire which had
severely damaged the amusement rides and other structures. In 1974 the pier was
demolished.

In 1972 Venice was on the verge of another transformation and another rebirth as a
tourist attraction. It’s unlikely that I will see it again, so Venice will remain for
me as it was in these photos. That’s okay. I liked it that way. Go to Next Quartet |
