Each had baked a loaf of bread and, at the end of mass, each sought out an older
person and presented the loaf to them as a gift. A little girl somberly held hers
out to me. It carried a note with her name and a request that I pray for her as she
prepared to receive the Eucharist. Her name was Katy.
