Orange Peel

Easter Dance Committee

We had 278 students in our graduating class. Our Commencement ceremony opened with a selection from “Sweethearts” by Victor Herbert and closed with “Anchors Away.” (Buster, Bud, and I didn't dream we would be in the Navy in a few years.) The program included an oration on “What Democracy Means to Youth” and others on the theme of “Democracy in our Time.”
I didn’t know, until I just read the old commencement program, that :
Our class colors were Red and Blue
Our class flowers were red rose and blue bachelor button.
105 of our surnames ended with a vowel.
