Some of these shots have been converted from color to
black-and-white to focus attention on the content geometry. In the pre-digital age,
conversion of color images to black-and-white was often accomplished in the darkroom
by using Kodak’s Panalure printing paper, and the results were usually mediocre.
Now excellent results are easily obtained by desaturating digitally-scanned color film.
