Big Band

The Paramount, on Broadway and 42nd Street, was my Mecca. To get a front row seat I would join a line already a half block long at 7:00 AM. They had five shows a day starting around 8:30, each including a feature film, a band, and a movie star or two. The admission price was between 50 cents and a dollar.
